Sick of A**holes

In the last 24 hours I've had both workouts interrupted by jerks. I have to say, it's getting rather wearing. Last night, before doing my upper body workout, I did my "Power to the People" workout of 2 sets deadlifts, 2 sets side press. After my first set of deadlifts (5 reps), I took a break, walked around, etc., for about 5 minutes, as the routine prescribes. On my way back to the squat rack, some guy says "hey you better keep it down." I had my headphones on, so turned around and took them off and said "what?" and he said "you better put some pads under that weight, otherwise someone back here is gonna kill you for making that much noise." I was like "whatever, dude, it was 1 set of 5 reps at heavy weight." Clearly the guy had no clue how you do a full deadlift properly. No, I wasn't dropping the weight, but I certainly wasn't letting it down slow and easy, either. Do that and you hurt yourself! I did a proper form deadlift. Anyway...

But, it gets better! I did a short interval run tonight (2 miles). This guy showed up about a half mile in front of me early in the run. By the 2nd to last running interval, I was almost caught up, and on the last running interval I passed him. He was a slow lugnut and he was swerving left and right in the path (and it's a wide path). After trying to get around him nicely a couple times, I finally picked a side and ran by. He tried to push me off the path! Whatever, I was going a good pace, so I finished my interval and coasted to a stop. As I stepped over to push the crosswalk button, he suddenly runs by (faster than he had been moving before) and intentionally cuts me off! I say "oh, sorry, didn't see you there" and he says "yeah, how do you like that!?!? that's what you did to me back there!!!" He kept jogging, back to his previous snail pace. I hollered back "You were swerving back and forth and almost cut me off!" and let it go at that. Nonetheless, what a jackass!!! Not the kind of BS anybody should have to put up with. Clearly, the guy was oblivious to his surroundings and, like the guy last night, had no clue what _I_ was doing and assumed I was clueless. When, in fact, he's the idiot.

None of this should surprise me, of course, because I'm finding more and more that, not only is this area overpopulated with strong Type A personalities (the power hungry), but the vast majority have IQs of well under 100. No wonder our country feels like it's run by idiots -- it is!!! Oh, well...
