More Conflicting Info On Global Warming

If you follow my blog at all, you know that I find this whole "global warming" and "save the planet" and "go green to stop bad things" movement to be quite ridiculous. If not, as a pointer, I've written about it here, here, and here.

So, the interesting news this week is two-fold. First, it seems they've underestimated the rate of melting in Arctic. Which means that, oops, we don't have quite as long until the end of the world as we know it (if you believe the media hype -- if you believe me, it's until the next major ice age starts).

Well, now today, even more amusingly, scientists are bickering over how much CO2 we can safely pump into the atmosphere without, you know, driving the planet to oblivion (or into a major ice age;). Of course, I find the whole thing amusing, because ultimately, I don't think it will matter one lick.

So, for the record, again, listen up folks: we're focusing on the wrong problem. We're blindly following these arrogant pseudo-experts about how to "save the planet" when the fact of the matter is that we humans are the ones who are going to need saving pretty soon, and not from excessive heat. I still think we're going to see an ice age within the lifetime of my parents (50 years or less), and I would not be surprised to find that by 2010 or so things are starting to look pretty "scary" to all these forecasters.

Hopefully I'm wrong, but you know what? We can, and should, be preparing for this ice age eventuality, AND converting to "green" energy sources. Not only is it feasible, but it's reasonable. And, you might just find better products in the process (like the products from Seventh Generation).
